Matlis, Nicholas H.
Nicholas H. Matlis received his Ph.D. in 2006 from the University of Texas at Austin working on single-shot imaging of laser wakefields using Frequency Domain Holography. He subsequently spent 8 years at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory where he continued working on the development of diagnostics and control of laser plasma accelerators. In 2015 he joined the group of Franz Kärtner in the Center for Free Electron Laser Science at DESY to lead the experimental implementation of the AXSIS project to build a compact X-ray light source driven by a fully THz-powered linear accelerator.
