Kassier, Günther

Günther H. Kassier received his PhD from the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) in 2010, working in the field of ultrafast electron diffraction (UED). From 2014 to early 2022 he was a group leader at the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter (MPSD) working on a wide range of projects in the fields of in- liquid electron microscopy, serial electron crystallography, nanotip electron source development and ultrafast low energy electron diffraction. In April 2022 he joined the Ultrafast Optics and X-rays group of Franz Kärtner with the goal of setting up and implementing UED systems enabled with Terahertz driving pulse capability for electron beam manipulation and sample excitation.
