Yakovlev, Alexey
Alexey Yakovlev (also spelled Aleksei Iakovlev) received his PhD in laser physics at the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2021. His doctoral research was focused on developing high-power lasers, studying thermal and magneto-optical effects.
In December 2021, he joined the Laser Science and Technology Team within the Ultrafast Optics and X-Ray Division. His current research areas include the development of high-average-power and high-energy lasers and amplifiers for particle acceleration and laser inertial fusion, including numerical modeling and optimization, system design, and experimental implementation.
