Okuyucu, Serdar

Serdar Okuyucu studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Dokuz Eylul University of Izmir, Turkey where he specialized in telecommunications (microwaves, antennas) and received his Bachelor`s degree in 2015. He then joined Yasar University as a research assistant in the same year and received his Master`s degree here in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2018. His MSc thesis was on the design and characterization of antennas (main, diversity and wifi antennas) for a mobile terminal. He started his PhD at the Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkey in 2018 and has been working as a research assistant at the Laser Technology Laboratory of Antalya Bilim University since then. In 2022, he joined the Ultrafast Optics and X-ray group of the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science at DESY to study the spectroscopic characterization and laser operation of fluoride crystals as part of his PhD thesis. His study at UFOX focuses on the investigation of spectroscopic properties for Cr:Colquiriites in cryogenic temperatures and development of high-repetition rate femtosecond oscillators based on Yb-doped crystals and investigation of their performance.
