Joining the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences (MIN), Universität Hamburg

Students of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) of National Taiwan University who are completing an undergraduate or graduate program are eligible for this exchange program. They will be required to have completed at least two years of full-time university studies prior to participation in the exchange.
Participating graduate students should have completed at least one semester of studies at National Taiwan University. The exchange program is limited to two students per academic year or four students enrolling for one semester/term.

After students have been nominated by the NTU coordinator for the exchange program, they will be considered for admission as non-degree special students by the exchange coordinator in Hamburg.

Language requirements:
Undergraduate students who want to attend classes will need to know German at B1 level. Undergraduate students who come only for research and graduate students (master and PhD) will need to know English equivalent to TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.0. These requirements are set by NTU.
The MIN faculty of Universitaet Hamburg does not explicitly demand language test certificates.

Costs:
- Students will have to pay the semester fee of € 275 (Summer Semester 2018) at Universität Hamburg. This fee includes a free public transport ticket in the Greater Hamburg Area.
- Students are required to contract health insurance. Through enrollment with Universität Hamburg students are eligible for the compulsory student health insurance in Germany. Students younger than 23 will pay € 89.73 per month and students older than 23 will pay € 90.99 per month.
There is also the possibility of taking out students' travel insurance for the duration of the exchange semester which will cost less.
- A room in the "Veddel residence" will cost e.g. € 380 (16 sqm) or € 450 (20 sqm) in shared aparments with students from all over the world.
